ADC SOUTH COACHES

SAMSON MILLER

Head Coach & Program Director

Samson grew up in Fairfax, Virginia where he dove with Dominion Dive Club from age 11-18. He is a 4-Time NISCA All-American Diver, and competed at the USA Diving Junior National championships on a yearly basis.

In addition to Dominion Dive Club, Samson also competed for Greenbriar Pool Club in the NVSL Summer Diving League, becoming the NVSL All-Star 1-meter Champion in 2013 and the NVSL Wally Martin 3-meter champion in 2015. Samson attended Fairfax High-School where he holds both the 6-Dive and 11-Dive School Records. He placed 3rd in his Virginia 6A State High School Diving Competition every year between 2013-2015. Samson achieved his ultimate Diving goal in 2016 when he accepted a scholarship to Dive for The University of Virginia. He recently graduated in 2020 with a B.A. in Music.

As a Coach, Samson’s journey began earlier than most at the age of 13. Samson has coached  Diving at Greenbriar Pool Club for the past 10 years, spending the past 5 seasons as Head-Coach. After graduating college, Samson signed on to be the Head Diving Coach of Fork Union Military Academy and has spent the past Two years with the Blue Devils. With the help of Tim Fisher, Samson became the Head Coach of ADC South this past September. Samson loves teaching the sport of Diving just as much as competing, and he’s extremely excited for his future with ADC.

NANCY MORRIS

Dive Coach

Nancy Morris has had an unusual path throughout her diving career.  She started taking lessons as an adult at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, one of the elite programs in the U.S., alongside 8-12 year old beginning divers.  Within a year the coaches at RBAC had her competing at Masters Nationals.  She later moved to Trojan Dive Club at the University of Southern California, another elite program under Head Coach Hongping Li, where she worked to improve her diving and continued to compete at Masters diving events around the country.

Nancy learned about coaching sitting at the side of some of the best coaches in the country, asking questions and listening while they coached.  She started teaching beginning lessons and coaching occasional Masters workouts all the while continuing to absorb techniques at workouts for  Jr. Olympic, college and Senior level divers.  Generous coaches  were always willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
